Yousef Al Naama leads malomatia as the Company’s visionary and dynamic Managing Director. Appointed on November 4, 2009, Al Naama provides direction and leadership to help the Company achieve its Vision, Mission, Strategy, and objectives. His solid technical expertise and years of extensive experience in the national IT practice adds to his vision a great passion for leveraging technology as an enabler of transformation and reform within the Qatari society.
Displaying an outstanding performance record in developing and delivering several successful IT initiatives in the public sector, Al Naama has been the unseen driving force behind the execution of some of the most high-profile national IT programs within the State of Qatar ― It is this extraordinary maturity as a leader to think strategically and execute plans effectively, that has enabled him to successfully lead malomatia’s three service business units – Government, Education and Healthcare.
Over the years, he has held several leadership positions. He started his career at RasGas as a Network Analyst within the IT Department. He then moved to Supreme Council of Information & Communication Technology (ictQATAR) as Planning and Strategy Section Manager for the Government CIO Office. There he led the formulation of Qatar’s Integrated e-Government Strategy (i-Gov), and the setup of Qatar Computer Emergency Response Team (QCert). He later took on as the Manager for the high-profile i-Gov Program for the State of Qatar.
As the i-Gov Program Manager, Al Naama was spearheading at least, 20 national level government initiatives including Hukoomi, Government Resources Planning, Employment and Recruitment Services, Personal Documents Services, and several other initiatives that made news within the region.
Al Naama has a Bachelor’s (Hons) Degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from the University of Glamorgan in Wales, UK.
